Hadji Ali Effendi Bath

Located at the entrance to the city across from the military camp. It is the only Ottoman structure that is still standing in Tırnovi and it is under conservation. Evliya Çelebi mentions the existence of the Bath in Tırnovi (VIII, 1966, p.40) therefore it is likelyto belong to the 16

th century. It does not have any inscriptions but is registered in the Ev.K.K, Defter Nr: 757 (Ayverdi IV, 1981, p.332) with the name Tezkire-i evvel Hadji Ali Effendi.

The Hamam was constructed of rubble on a rectangular plan with a central dome. A third room is square and measures 9.90 mt. x 9.90 mt. (Kanetaki, 2004, p.181). There are two areas that are rectangular in shape; one is a water tank covered with cross vault. The bath was restored in the 1990s. It is envigased to be used for cultural activities. During our visit it was closed.
