Akçalızâde Ahmed Agha Mevlevi Dervish Lodge

"It is at the bridgehead, near the Kösdem River. It has a sheikh called Hububî Effendi. There are fifty-five fair, suffering, poor whirling dervishes. The place where they perform the Sema (whirling dance), dervish rooms and kitchen are prosperous and there is plenty of food"

(Evliya Çelebi VIII, 1966, p.42).

 

The charitable foundation of the lodge, VGMA, is registered in the Atik Defter Nr: 725, p.204 on 13 C, 1104 (February 19, 1693). It is shown as a Mevlevi Lodge on the map dated 9 Ş, 1243 (February 25, 1828), (Halaçoğlu, 1974, p. 93).
